Update :)
Hi, sorry its been a while since i wrote in our blog but we have been busy trying to figure things out. Its been a long time since we have received any donations but that's okay we are saving as much as we can as fast as we can and as of right now we have $4,582.13. We had to find a new mortgage broker as our previous one what not very nice. So the new mortgage broker said for us to get $10,000.00 in the bank and she would see if any bank is willing to give us a mortgage and they we will go from there. Also we might have someone that is willing to co-sign for us and if that is the case all we will need is $10,000.00 in the bank but hopefully we will be able to get a mortgage on our own. Its getting harder and harder getting Alex in and out of his crib, so the sooner the better to get in to a house. When we do get into a house we be getting a costume bed built and donated to us, it will be amazing and so much easier :)

Earnings so far!
So far we have had a total of $1010.00 worth of donations and a total of $3050.00 of money we saved and from things we sold and the bottle drive which yielded $200.40. That is a compete total of $4060.00!!!!!! We are so grateful for the donations that we have received so far we.
No matter how long it take for us to raise money for our down payment, it will only ever be used for that. The donation pot will stay in saving earning interest until we need it. I have written down all who donated and when we finally get into our dream home we will be sending all of you a small token of our application.
With love, Miranda Tataryn

Day 9 - A picture of the person who has got you through the most
My absolutely amazing husband, who is the most supportive and loving father and husband anyone could ask for. Mike and I had been together for about 2 years and his mom said that she was surprised that we were still together. Statistics say 85-90% of parents with disabled children divorce within the first 2 years. Well all i have to say to that is Mike and i have been together for 7 and a half years and we are still going strong and we will be together for the rest of our lives!!!!!!! I love you Mike.

We sure love our kids but man just to know a little bit more would make everything so much easier!!!

What we have raised so far!!!!!
So far our donations are up to $793!!!!! We will be cashing in our account at the bottle depot on the 17th of Feb. We are still in need of more donations if you would like to help in anyway we would be greatly appreciative. Here are some ways you can help us out. You can do a bottle drive for us or collect loose change, ask your friends and family to donate empty's or loose change. Or even donate things you dont want anymore and we can sell them on Facebook or Kijiji. We have raised $150 of the $793 by selling a washer and dryer that were donated!!! Thank you for everyone's help so far!!!!

Day 5 - A picture of your favorite memory
♥♥♥Mine and Mike's first date ♥ ♥ ♥
I asked Mike on a date and he said yes, i told him that he better not stand me up. Guess who was late, me. LOL he almost left where we were meeting but i showed up in the nick of time, i was talking to my mom and telling her about the cute boy that i had a date with :) We went to the fair and spent the day together it was great. 2 weeks later we were pregnant with Alex, when people say it only takes once they aren't kidding! We have been together since our first date and now we have been together for 7 years and still going strong!

Day 4 - A picture of your night
Making formula...never ends lol
So Alex and Jaymee have G-tubes, so they are on a strict liquid diet. I have to make formula for them every night. We are going to be making formula for the rest of our lives. Alex and Jaymee are on a very special diet, the formula they are on is called Neocate and the proteins in it have been broken down so they can digest them. Both kids have a hard time tolerating proteins.

It must be hard!?
I remember growing up and people asking me what i wanted to be when i grew up and my answer was always the same, to be a mom. But the one thing i never imagined was the chance that i would be a mom to a disabled child, let alone two. For a long time it was very sad for us to know the things that we would never get to do with our kids but you know something, we still get to do those things it just takes longer. It's almost more exciting for us when they reach one of their own milestones, especially when we have been working so hard with them on one. Like with Alex it took years to get him to sit on his own and when he did it was the most amazing thing, also with Jaymee when it took her a year and a half to roll over. Its days like that that lift our spirits like you can't imagine. I was having a sad day a few year back and my mom told me something, she said that when i was little that i used to say that i was going to adopt a baby of every race and you know i still want to do that but she also said that if things turned out differently and i was never able to have kids and we went to adopt a kid that the one i would have pick would have been the one with a disability because i knew i could take care of that kid and all i wanted to do it make that child's life the most amazing it could ever be! She's right you know, i would have pick the kid that needed me the most and the one that most would have walked right past. I love being a mom!

Life is very different
If you are a parent that has disabled children, life is very different than one with "normal" kids. No matter who you are you still love them the same. People ask me all the time, " it must be so hard, to take care of special kids" and i always tell them no harder than taking care of a normal kid, its just different. The response to that is " How can it not be harder" and i say our first child was disabled and we had to learn to take care of him, if we had had a normal child first and then our second was disabled then ya i would probably say its harder, because we learned on a normal baby. but we didn't know any different when Alex was born. Alex was teaching us to take care of him just like any other child would, normal or not. We also had to learn to take care of Jaymee yes her and Alex were a lot a like, as in their disability, but there was so much more we had to learn to take care of her as well. We may have to carry them for the rest of your lives, change their diapers and never have them grow up mentally but we still love them, cherish them and care for them. The hard part is knowing that they will never be a hockey star or preform ballet. Or even the little things most people would take for granted, like having to chase your kid down the street because they think its funny or having them arguing with you about doing the dishes.

Asking for help
I never thought that i would ever have to ask for money to help us. but look where we are now, asking. I have had a lot of people including a Facebook group saying that because i wont give them my kids personal information, it makes us a scam. Well i can understand why they would think that but I'm not just going to hand over my kids personal information to a group of people that i dont know. It may be wrong of me but i don't think i would be doing my job as a mom if i did that. As far as I'm concerned if i did i wouldn't be protecting my kids. I know that in a lot of peoples minds there are worse off people out there such as living on the streets or in their cars and have no money for food or any home at all. If you feel that way donate to them they need it more than i do, but for the people that want to help my kids, great! We will gladly accept the help but i dont want money from the poor/homeless or others that need it more. I'm not telling anyone they have to donate. All im asking is if you feel you want to help us, we are here. I also want to make it clear no matter how much we raise or how long it takes, it will only ever be used for our down payment. I would like to thank all of our friends/family/strangers for the uplifting and positive notes and messages. It makes all of the stuff the skeptics are saying a little less harsh.

Alex's first time in a walker VIDEO
Alex's first time in a walker, as you can see there is no space for him to turn around and really can only walk up and down the hallway and his new walker barley fits down the hallway. The clicking sound is the locks on his walker. Annoying yes lol but it makes it safer. for some reason the sound isn't lined up with the video, sorry.

WE DO DESERVE IT!
We have been getting a lot of flack about us not being real. well i don't know what else to say, but we are. We really do need help, my kids really are disabled and our current home is not working for my kids or my husband and i. Alex and Jaymee are the most wonderful kids and all we want is to make it so we can care for them the rest of their lives, if we don't get a bigger and better house it all comes down to this. We would have to put our babies into a full time care home. Well i DON'T want to give my babies away!! Think of it this way if you were a parent and you did all you could to care for your kids for 6 years, try and try and try and one day someone says well your not good enough and we are taking your baby! but wait worse than that, they say you have to be the one to walk your baby in to a full time care home and leave him there, then walk out the door. Well as far as im concerned is THAT'S NOT OKAY, and im going to keep trying and im never going to stop. Asking for help is very hard for me, and I'm sorry i know there are people out there that do scam, cheat and lie to get money. But that's not us. No one will ever completely understand what we going through as parents with disabled children, you know what my husband and i will never be grandparents, my husband will never be able to walk his daughter down the isle at her wedding because she will never get married. We will never hear I love you or mommy or daddy most of you will never understand how painful it is and that i cry everyday thinking that no matter how hard we try it really isn't going to be enough. But im still going to keep trying no matter how many people say we are lieing or just don't deserve it. Well you know what WE DO DESERVE IT!

A huge of an impact
I wish a could explain better how huge of an impact a new home would be for our babies but here is a few very small examples: Alex can't walk in his walker, through our kitchen and turn around there is so little space. We have to pull Alex up stairs in his wheelchair just to get him into the house. Then we have to carry Alex and Jaymee to get them into their bedrooms and to the bathroom because our hallway to too narrow to fit wheelchairs through it. We did the math and if 5500 people donated $10 each we would have our down payment. I'm begging and pleading from the bottom of our hearts, please help us. Once we have reached our goal we will be sending out a thank gift to everyone who donated.
The things that you do for yourself, die with you.....the things that you do for others , mark your place in the world.
